Top Ten Moments from Glenwood

In one week, Glenwood comes to a close in my life. So I thought I would take the time and write about my top moments from living here...


1. Well of course the best part has been rooming with my cousin Rosie! We have had some very interesting moments. I have seen a lot of different sides of this girl. It's been great, cuz!

2. Rosie and I have a fro yo place that we love to go to. Menchies. So yummy. We have been there so many times this year! We even have a spoon collection. What are we going to do with it when we move?? That is a  very sad thought...:(

3. I discovered the shows Community, The Walking Dead, and Arrested Development while living here. They have provided some good times!!

4. I have had an awesome fhe family! They are so funny. One of my favorite moments was when we all squished ourselves to fit on one love seat.

5. I had a nail polish problem when I moved here, but I also rubbed off on to Rosie! Now we like doing stuff to our nails.

6. All throughout the year, I have had a problem with spilling things on my bed. Water, lemonade, Dr. Pepper, and even chickfila sauce. It's interesting.

7. While I was at a fondue party, we roasted a marshmallow over a candle.

8. One time Rosie was making cupcakes. They were very good, but the process was pretty intense. And when it came to making the frosting something went wrong, and Rosie ended up having around 3 gallons of frosting made. Don't ask me how this happened...It just exploded. I am never going to forget that moment. But the cupcakes turned out delicious!!!

9. Apparently one time while I was sleeping the lightbulb exploded. Interesting.

10. I have had incredible roommates! I really loved when Ashley came back to stay with us the night before she left for the MTC. That was a special experience. Leah leaves on her mission in a month! I love them.

11. I have had a great ward. Such genuinely good and down to Earth people.

I am so glad that I have some good memories! It was so fun to think back on these fun times :)

What's on the Hip Hap With My Life

I've gotten progressively worse at updating my blog... :/ But I will try to be better! I was initially planning on posting about my Disneyland trip, but my computer hates my phone and is struggling to upload the pictures. So that is coming soon hopefully.

Life has been a little crazy lately though! Since I am not in school right now I am working as many hours as possible. That has been so good. I love and hate working long shifts. They are definitely hard because I get so tired. But it is awesome because I am making more money, and I love who I work with. My last paycheck actually made me smile to myself. It was my biggest one yet!

I only have 3 weeks left here at Glenwood. It is bittersweet. I am very excited to move back home and see people that I haven't seen since last summer! It will also be rent-free, and that is very cool. It is so sad though because I have made some great friends here. I love my ward and my roommates. It is just now hitting me how much I am going to miss it. But it will still be good.

This fall I am moving to Alpine Village. It is right next to Glenwood, so I can still party it up with those staying there next year. I am so excited though. I'll be living with my friend from work. I don't know how I got so lucky to get to be her friend, but she is awesome. We are going to have some interesting times there for sure...haha. Alpine Village is also a million times nicer than Glenwood, and for that I am even more excited! It'll be fun to be there with friends while going to school :) So stoked.

That is a little update on what is going on with my life now! Pretty dang excting, eh? <=say that in a nacho libre accent please.

Also, Elder Liddle comes home in less than 8 months. I am missing my best friend so much. It's winding down! kinda...

Cousin Dinner

Dear people of the world,

I have to say that I have had a pretty darn good Sunday.

I was able to go to a mission farewell of someone who I have always admired so much. He is a little younger than me, but he was in my sunday school class back at home. A few days ago, his father passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack.  Because of this tragic loss, I was not sure he was still going to give his talk on Sunday, and ultimately decide not to go on a mission so that he could stay with his mother during this tender time. But he is still going! He is such an inspiration. The spirit that I felt during his beautiful talk was so incredibly strong. He is letting everything that is happening around him fuel the fire of his testimony. It has been a long time since I've felt the spirit that strongly. Thank you Jared for your testimony.

Once I came back to my apartment I took about a 3 hour nap, and woke up probably looking like I was on drugs. I don't know why I slept so long, but it was kind of nice. Anyways, me and my cousin/roomie were having some of our cousins over for dinner tonight. So we decided to prepare for that. We had me, Rosie, her brother Matt, and our cousins Amelia, and Lydia. Those 4 are the coolest cousins you could ever ask for. We were missing Laurel (Amelia and Lydia's sister) and Josh (my brother) because of missions, but we had an awesome time.

We ate baked bbq chicken with rice, seasoned green beans, cinnamon apples, and no bake cookies for dessert. So yummy. But I think the best part was being able to  have them over and to see how everyone is doing. Matt just returned from a mission and was telling us all about how his dating life is goin. Good on you man. Amelia is preparing to leave on a mission in Spain. Lydia and Rosie are working hard in school. You already know what's going on with me..

Anyway, it was really good to laugh with them. How cool is it that I am so close to my cousins? I think that is pretty cool. We had some good laughs about our memories of each other. The things we remember are so funny...

Breakin the Rules

Today my day started out kind of shakey. I woke up at 10:30 a.m. freaking out because I had work at 11. That gave me aprox. 15 minutes to get ready. My hopes of taking a shower flew out the window instantly. I managed to get ready in time though! Score.

The roads were icy, and I almost died walking into work, but i'm still here to tell the tale, so crisis averted. No worries there. Then after work I almost died as I was about 6.3 inches from my car. But again, still alive.

The instant I walked into my apartment I ran to the shower so that I could cleanse myself. I forget how much I love taking showers in the afternoon. Is that weird? I just like it...

Me and Rosie decided that today we were going to break the rules of our south beach diet (because it is the end of phase 1 and beginning of phase 2, which caused for a pretty dang awesome reward.) So we went to Costa Vida for dinner. That was very scrumptious.

Then we had fhe at my apartment. We had a lesson about keeping an eternal perspective. That was a great little reminder. My mind is going crazy thinking about all the different things. Maybe I need to go to sleep and wrap my head around everything so that I can make a plan to apply that to my life. For our activity we did puzzles. I got these puzzles at the dollar store, hoping that our family would enjoy them.

The Boba Fett one glows in the dark. After it was all built, we turned off the lights to see if it would glow. We discovered that it needed more time to charge in the light. So instead of picking up the puzzle and putting it up to the light (which doesn't work btw. It breaks.) they decided to lift up the whole coffee table and put the puzzle directly under the light. After about a minute, they put the table down and turned off the lights. It really glowed! It wasn't super great quality, but it was a buck. I was satisfied.

After puzzles/fhe, me and Rosie went to Menchies to finish off our breaking the rules/celebration. I got a free icecream from them because it is my birthday week. I got my usual chocolate with reeses an peanut butter/fudge sauce. Super good.

I really had a good time today. Despite the rocky start. Have a nice night.

Day Ten [10] / Erika's Birthday Dinner

Lucky for you guys I just cleaned up my room!! WOO! I might have know that today was the day where I show you my room, but I really was going to clean it today anyways. It's not spotless either. But here are a few pics of my room. Enjoy the feast your eyes are about to have...

Also, little mini blog, tonight I went with my family to Chuck-a-rama for Erika's birthday dinner! Her birthday is actually tomorrow, but we did it tonight. Sad that I will be missing the cake tomorrow because I have work, but happy birthday Erika! You are going to be the worlds best 17 year old. But for now, you are the worlds best 16 year old :) I love you! I can't wait to be home over Christmas break to be with my fam. So close!

 

AHHHH!!!

So today has been a pretty great day! After work, me and Rosie taught hair and make up tips for a relief society activity. It was so much fun. I feel like we really taught so much to them! I taught the hair tips and Rosie taught the make up. Afterwards, we went to Pizza Factory to gorge ourselves on delicious food (Rosie had a gift card so we were able to afford this :) )

After stuffing ourselves, we were off to Tarjay (target). After all of our awesome make up tips and newly found self confidence, we wanted to look at make up. Rosie had tried my mousse foundation and really liked it, so we wanted to find it in a better shade. We ended up finding the PERFECT shade. She looks pretty rockin right now. I also got some new eyeshadow for 5 smackers. Rosie got a gigantic pallette for 15 dollars and it is so awesome!

Anyways, we pretty much just went silly with gettin stuff. It is e.l.f. brand so everything was very inexpensive. I am very pleased with that Tarjay trip.

When we got home Rosie tried out her new make up. She looks awesome! Here is a picture.

Good Times!

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I love the times when I listen to old music that brings back memories of good old childhood days. Me and Rosie are in our room doing just that. Right now it is Hillary Duff's c.d. It is crazy how much I remember the songs. It is seriously so much fun doing this.

Here is some of the music that I love listening to because of the memories:

3. Backstreet Boys (if this is not on your list you did not have a proper childhood)
4. George Strait-this is what my dad would listen to when we were younger. It is so much fun!
5. Clint Black-for the same reasons as George Strait. My dad used to think he was a cowboy :)
6. Moosebutter. They are just weird and totally remind me of good times had.

Pumpkin Carving

 Tonight for FHE in my ward we carved pumpkins! It was tons of fun. We originally planned to have 4 pumpkins and have teams of carvers, but people in our family ended up bringing some of their own, so we had 7! That made it was cooler. I was with a guy named Lee and we made a ninja turtle! Super intense, I know. Lee basically did all the cool and hard stuff and I was moral support, but hey, I enjoyed it.

 



This is our hot pumpkin all lit up. Don't you love his scowl? I do. I didn't get pictures of the other pumpkins...Now I wish I did. Everyone's turned out awesome. I really had a good time tonight :)

 

And just so ya'll know, after Halloween on thursday it is officially time to start playing Christmas music.

My Apartment

So remember when I said I would post pics of my apartment when everything was unpacked? Well here are some really horrible pictures of it. I took them on my phone just barely and I couldn't get good ones. But it is the general idea. My roommates are awesome and decorated the living room. I really didn't get good pictures though so I will have to get better ones and show you those some later time.

This is scrapbook paper put on the wall in this beautiful retro design. I love this.

This is a picture frame with different things in it like music, quotes, etc.

This is something that they saw on pinterest. I think it is cute.

So this is outside in the hallway by the bathrooms. It is an over the door organizer that is holding all of our bathroom stuff. I can't even tell you how many ways we tried hanging this up. Thumb tacks. Thank you Rosie!! Briliant. Sorry the picture is sideways. I can't fix that...

So there is a look into the apartment. I promise I will show you better pictures later. I promise.

Jewelry Organizer and Frozen Yogurt

So my wonderful sister made me something to help me organize my jewelry in my apartment. And it is super cute too! I finally got around to hanging it up tonight. It looks good. And it's taking up the last of my wall space :) Here are some pictures:

And my necklaces. The most important thing of mine that needs organizing. I love it!! Thanks Erika.

And when me and Rosie were done with that and doing out laundry, we went to Menchies for frozen yogurt. We were celebrating moving in. This is a picture of my chocolate dipped pretzel flavored yogurt. It was basically a salted chocolate taste Sounds weird, but it was good. I added reeses and hot fudge. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach though because I couldn't finish it. But it was delicious :)

Welcome to my Crib!

My bedroom is FINALLY unpacked and ready to go. So I thought I would show you all the beauty...

Here is my bed. Thanks to my mom for finishing my quilt for me the morning I moved out!! Haha, I have been working on this quilt for over a year now, and now it is complete. What do you think? I'm sure it would have looked better in my room at home because it had blue walls.

This right here is my "photo collage". The center picture is the Oquirrh Mountain temple. I chose that one because that is where I want to get married. It is a beautiful temple. The other large ones are framed fabric. The smaller pictues are other inspiring pictures including the Timpanogos temple and the first vision.

 

This is our desk (me and Rosie) It might not look super clean, but it really is. The picture makes it look awful. My side is the right one. I must have too much stuff.

This is our over the door shoe organizer. You'll notice that my shoes (the bottom half) have less shoes. This is because they keep fallig off :'(

Horrible picture, but this is my closet. It's kind of crammed. The crates stacked in the bottom are actually going home today. I just carried my stuff in them while moving.

 

Yes that is Mashter Yoda on my dresser. It's Yoda as a Mr. Potato Head. Disneyland is the best.

 So that was a look into my bedroom! When our kitchen and the rest of our apartment is unpacked I will definitelly show you!
