My Day :)

I have had a great day today! So I thought I would share the different things that transpired :)

Me and my friend had plans to go to seven peaks today, but those fell through, but we ended up hanging out together a little later in the afternoon. I went to her apartment to chill for a little while and we went to Sammy's and got little banana cream pie shakes. That was my first time at Sammy's, and I was impressed. It was a cute little atmosphere and it was a delicious shake. When we finished our shakes we went to the mall to look around. Of course we stopped at the Downeast store. It is my fave. Alex got a skirt and I got a cute little shirt. You can't not buy something when you go to the mall...;)

After chilling at the mall for awhile we went to quite possibly the best restaurant, Zupas. I have been converted. It's one of those places like Costa Vida/Cafe Rio, where it is higher quality food than fast food, but it's not like a fancy sit down place. Fun atmosphere and good sustenance.

After we filled our bellies we saw Man of Steel. I am impressed with that movie. I was a little apprehensive about it when I first heard about it because there are so many different Superman movies. But this was good! The best Superman movie I've seen. Not to mention that the main actor is EXTREMELY attractive. I mean seriously. He makes Thor and Captain America seem not so attractive. Just sayin.

That was a fun evening that I had with my bestie. She's great.

When I got home I just chilled on my computer for awhile and am now in my family room watching The Office. I am putting off going to bed because I don't want to go through the process of getting ready for bed. Worst part of the day besides getting ready for the day...haha.

Anyways, I had this text conversation with my mom just barely and I want to share.

I asked where the sunscreen was and she told me and this is where it begins:
Me: "Thanks yo."
Mom: "Welcome."
Me: "Fo shizzle."
Mom: "To the hizzy."
Me: "Off the chizzain."
Mom: "Straightizzle to dizzle landizzle."
Me: "Nice."
Mom: "Yup. Izzle."
Me: "Krizzazzle."
Mom: (talking about me going to seven peaks tomorrow) "Have fun swizzlin on the slidizzles tomizzle."
Me: "You know I wizzle."
Mom: "Coozle."
Me. "Lovez"
Mom: "Dittozzle"

And you're jealous. I've got the coolest mom ever.

Goodnight world!

A Liddle Update

It's been awhile since I've blogged. I don't know why, because my life has been full of so much fun lately! The summer weather has been amazing. I love being in the sun with every chance I get. I love enjoying the little moments where I can just sit outside for a little bit and relax while listening to music. And I get some nice time to spend with my little dog out there. You can't beat that! haha

I have also been putting in a lot of hours at work. I am trying to get as many hours as I possibly can while I still am available. I start school again on July 10th and at that time my availability will be cut in half. I have really enjoyed going in to work lately. I kind of had a phase where I didn't really enjoy it, but man, I love my job. I just get to work with great people. I feel bad for the people who do not get to work with the peeps that I do, because they are great. Awesome friends. It's definitely a family bond :)

And my bff FINALLY came back from visiting her fam in Georgia. I love this chica. I am very excited to start doing stuff with her again. And the 2 shifts we've worked together since her return have been the best shifts ever :)

Also, my dad has returned from his Warrant Officer school in Alabama. He was gone for what felt like forever, but now he's back. He's one step closer to being Chief Liddle. He has one more school that he leaves for in July and then he's official! I am so proud of him. I have always admired my dad for being such a hard worker. He has definitely always been a positive example and influence in my life. It's great having him back for awhile.

My sister is at Girls Camp this week, so whenever I'm not at work I am at home with just my parents. It's definitely weird sometimes. I love my parents. But I miss my sister for sure. She plays Zelda with me and gives me hints. I played it last night and got nightmares. No lie. I need her when I play haha.

I am missing my bro now more than ever! He is so so happy in Japan though. Reading his last email, I have noticed a HUGE change in him. He is so motivated and is doing so much good!! I am very happy that he is happy. But I still miss the guy.

So as you can tell life is going great! I am happy with how things are going right now :)

Tarjay

You know those moments where you read something or hear something and just think to yourself, "that describes me perfectly" ? I saw this on pinterest and feel that way about it. I can totally relate.

Also, I totally spent 50 bucks at Target yesterday. And when I came home I didn't even remember what I bought. So it was obviously useless stuff. But hey, it was Target.

Friends.

My friends have been occupying my thoughts a lot lately. It is amazing to me that I am surrounded by so many incredible people. Most of the friends I have are unexpected. I don't know how we came to be such good friends. But I am very glad that we are.

There are certain relationships that are so great there are no words to really describe it. It is so great that I can know someone and trust them enough to talk to them about anything. I know that they are listening. I know that they care. I can tell them about the stupid little meaningless things that happen throughout my day. But I can also talk to them about genuine concerns that I have or struggles that I am going through. And in return, I can be a listener to them.

Friendships are not the easiest things for me to develop because I am a very reserved person. I don't put myself out there and talk to people just to talk. So when I stumble across someone who can suddenly be one of the best things that has ever happened to me is such a blessing. These little unexpected friendships have changed my life. I have a Heavenly Father who knows exactly who I need by my side as I make my way through this weird little life of mine. And I am so full of gratitude. I am so happy.

It's Not A Waste

I just wanted to say a little bit about why I am choosing to go to cosmetology school. I have this horrible problem with worrying about what people think of me. So whenever I say I am going to hair school I kind of cringe because in my head I'm saying "Ok they think I am so vain and only care about looks. This chick must be stuck up." But it isn't true, I just have the problem of assuming that people think that.

I saw this quote on someone's blog quite a few months ago, and it really made me stop and think about why I want to pursue this career path. I've definitely struggled with choosing a path that is so focused on vanity. It seemed kind of empty. But this quote changed my mind.

Full quote here:

So we are, on a finite level, people who can create. Why does man have creativity?  Why can man think of so many things in his mind, and choose, and then bring forth something that other people can taste, smell, feel, hear, and see?   Because man was created in the image of a Creator.  Man was created that he might create.  It is not a waste of man's time to be creative.  It is not a waste to pursue artistic or scientific pursuits in creativity, because this is what man was made to be able to do.  He was made in the image of a Creator, and given the capacity to create- on a finite level of course, needing to use the materials already created- but he is still the creature of the Creator.

God gave me the desire to be creative. My love for the beauty industry was not an accident. It's not an accident that I love styling hair. It is not an accident. I love to be creative with hair and make up and other things in the beauty industry.

This career path will give me the opportunity to meet so many different people and interact with them on a level that is personal.

I have learned to never underestimate the Lord's power to use my creative desire for something greater. I believe He has already set up my path and it is my choice to use it for something more. I was not given my desires and talents on accident.

And I will use them for something more.

Flirting

So I have come to a conclusion about myself.

I can't flirt.

It's embarrassing. Seriously. Every time I try I feel like a fool. Suddenly my ability to talk magically disappears. But then, as I am not around said person, I can suddenly think of the perfect things that I could have said.

It's a sad sad fact in my life...:/

Jedi Master Yoda

So I recently made the connection that I kind of have a little Yoda collection in my possession. Last year when I went to Disneyland I bought this Mashter Yoda potato head. It's my favorite "toy". I have enjoyed him being on my dresser this year.

Item number 2 would be my yoda headphones. I was at Walmart with my sister getting a game and we saw a collection of Star Wars headphones. They were less than 10 dollars, so, naturally, I had to buy them. They had Darth Maul, C-3PO, Darth Vader, and a Storm Trooper. But the Yoda ones stood out to me.

I am not going to lie to you, they do kind of creep me out. But they are so awesome.

The final thing is my souvenir from Disneyland this year. I had a really hard time choosing from the plethora of Star Wars shirts in the Star Trader store (my favorite store on the Earth!!!) and finally decided on this one. It is Yoda with hipster glasses. Now, normally I hate everything about hipsters. But Yoda is the only one I have seen pull these off. This is a pretty cool tshirt.

So there you have it. My Yoda collection. I feel so incredibly nerdy for even owning 3 Yoda things....But he's cool.

Jamming Hipster

Ok. So I had a HILARIOUS experience today while driving down University Ave.

There was a guy behind me wearing hipster sunglasses. That should say something right there. Hate those things. So I knew he was one of those weirdos.

I was stopped at a red light and looked in my rear view mirror. He was rocking out. I mean jamming! He had the air guitar going, some jazz hand stuff and everything. He was completely immersed in his music. And then when I thought it couldn't get any better, he grabbed the head rest of the passenger seat (there was no one else in the car by the way) and he started to sing to the seat as if there was someone there. At this point I am crying from laughing so hard.

People in other cars probably thought I was this freak girl for cracking up alone in my own car. But man oh man was that a fun experience. I am still smiling thinking back on that.

Thank you random hipster for making my day. Thoroughly enjoyed the free show.

What's on the Hip Hap With My Life

I've gotten progressively worse at updating my blog... :/ But I will try to be better! I was initially planning on posting about my Disneyland trip, but my computer hates my phone and is struggling to upload the pictures. So that is coming soon hopefully.

Life has been a little crazy lately though! Since I am not in school right now I am working as many hours as possible. That has been so good. I love and hate working long shifts. They are definitely hard because I get so tired. But it is awesome because I am making more money, and I love who I work with. My last paycheck actually made me smile to myself. It was my biggest one yet!

I only have 3 weeks left here at Glenwood. It is bittersweet. I am very excited to move back home and see people that I haven't seen since last summer! It will also be rent-free, and that is very cool. It is so sad though because I have made some great friends here. I love my ward and my roommates. It is just now hitting me how much I am going to miss it. But it will still be good.

This fall I am moving to Alpine Village. It is right next to Glenwood, so I can still party it up with those staying there next year. I am so excited though. I'll be living with my friend from work. I don't know how I got so lucky to get to be her friend, but she is awesome. We are going to have some interesting times there for sure...haha. Alpine Village is also a million times nicer than Glenwood, and for that I am even more excited! It'll be fun to be there with friends while going to school :) So stoked.

That is a little update on what is going on with my life now! Pretty dang excting, eh? <=say that in a nacho libre accent please.

Also, Elder Liddle comes home in less than 8 months. I am missing my best friend so much. It's winding down! kinda...

Summer Lovin'

So, summer has been on my mind. Obiviously. The weather is awesome!

I don't know about you guys, but when spring/summertime roll around I start listening to a certain kind of music. You know the music. Journey, Boston, you know, the classics. I don't know why, but this music always makes me feel so good! It means summer. I can't explain it. But I am currently listening to it and all I can think about is how stoked I am that it is finally nice weather! :)

I thought i'd share my favorites that i'm listenin to:

More Than a Feeling - Boston

Come Sail Away - Styx

Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins

Africa - Toto

Juke Box Hero - Foreigner

Don't Stop Believin' - Journey

Separate Ways - Journey

Pride - U2

Ordinary World - Duran Duran

Force Ten - Rush

Amanda - Boston

Listen to those. It's good stuff.

Be Happy.

I just wanted to share what has been going on in my head for the past couple of days.

Life is insane.

I'm pretty sure every person on this earth can say so. So much stuff happens in our lives. We have bad days. We have awesome days. We get stressed out. We surprise ourselves with what we are capable of. We are freaks. We feel good and we feel bad.

It is so easy to let the bad things that happen to us get us down. That has probably been the biggest problem i've had in my life so far. Stop dwelling on the ugly parts of life.

It is completely up to you to let go of all the crap that is holding us back. It feels AWFUL to dwell on the ugly. It is impossible to feel happy when we dwell on that. Trust me, I know. Let it go!

We are always going to have bad things happen. But pick yourself up off of the floor. Make yourself happy. Go hang out with your friends and act completely ridiculous. I know that when I do that I always feel a heck of a lot better.

Happiness is a choice. Make the choice. Life is meant to be a growing exerience, and a happy experience :)

Need A Laugh?

I was just looking at my board on pinterest full of funny things. I thought i'd share some of my favorites.

Enjoy. Please. If you don't, then don't tell me so I don't feel stupid.

Laugh.

I'm on Drugs

So. I have an unexpected cold. I woke up this morning at 4:48 and could not breathe out of my nose. We all know that when this happens our thoughts are saying, "Why me? I would rather die than suffer the pain and torment that is about to befall me these next couple of days."

The first thing I did when I woke up was take some cold medicine. I'm a DayQuil/NiQuil kind of girl. Whenever I take DayQuil I get very loopy. I always have, always will. I have been losing my mind all day. I've been stuck at home, with my drugs, and my laptop. I drank 3 cans of Dr. Pepper (I know, it's really bad. This never happens, promise)

I am counting down the minutes until my day meds wear off so that I can take my night meds and finally go to bed. Then I will wake up tomorrow and start this living heck all over again.

So if you come in contact with me over the next few days (especially those whom I work with) I will probably seem a little loopy or drugged. Because I am. Enjoy.

Cousin Dinner

Dear people of the world,

I have to say that I have had a pretty darn good Sunday.

I was able to go to a mission farewell of someone who I have always admired so much. He is a little younger than me, but he was in my sunday school class back at home. A few days ago, his father passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack.  Because of this tragic loss, I was not sure he was still going to give his talk on Sunday, and ultimately decide not to go on a mission so that he could stay with his mother during this tender time. But he is still going! He is such an inspiration. The spirit that I felt during his beautiful talk was so incredibly strong. He is letting everything that is happening around him fuel the fire of his testimony. It has been a long time since I've felt the spirit that strongly. Thank you Jared for your testimony.

Once I came back to my apartment I took about a 3 hour nap, and woke up probably looking like I was on drugs. I don't know why I slept so long, but it was kind of nice. Anyways, me and my cousin/roomie were having some of our cousins over for dinner tonight. So we decided to prepare for that. We had me, Rosie, her brother Matt, and our cousins Amelia, and Lydia. Those 4 are the coolest cousins you could ever ask for. We were missing Laurel (Amelia and Lydia's sister) and Josh (my brother) because of missions, but we had an awesome time.

We ate baked bbq chicken with rice, seasoned green beans, cinnamon apples, and no bake cookies for dessert. So yummy. But I think the best part was being able to  have them over and to see how everyone is doing. Matt just returned from a mission and was telling us all about how his dating life is goin. Good on you man. Amelia is preparing to leave on a mission in Spain. Lydia and Rosie are working hard in school. You already know what's going on with me..

Anyway, it was really good to laugh with them. How cool is it that I am so close to my cousins? I think that is pretty cool. We had some good laughs about our memories of each other. The things we remember are so funny...

But that is what happened today. Sorry, this is a really really long post. Thanks for reading. If you skimmed it, thanks for skimming. I'm sure my blog is just blowing your mind.

Birthday.

So I have had a really good birthday today! I enjoyed it so much that I have decided you are all cool enough to hear about it as well.

At 9:00 a.m. my friend from work took me out to breakfast! I told him he needed to surprise me with where we were going. He told me that when I saw where he was taking me I would be asking him if he was serious. He drove to the mall, and was driving towards where we park for work. And I was thinking, 'seriously? You're taking me to chick-fil-a for breakfast?' I was laughing. But then Zach told me he was joking, and we went to Mimi's Cafe.

He got the french toast, and I got a Cinnamon Broche (spelling?...) french toast. I really enjoyed it. It was super sweet, but super delicious. It was so fun to gettig to talk to Zach outside of work, and i'm thankful for the time he took to start my birthday out with a bang.

Later on I played Harry Potter Scene it with my mom and sister. I love that game. Sometimes I disturb myself with how much I know about those dang Harry Potter moives though...

Then we went to Five Guys for dinner!! It beats in 'n out by a landslide.

If you've ever been there, you'll know that they have peanuts you can eat while waiting for your food.

We had a peanut that looked kinda like ET. Creepy.

After snacking our burgers were done!! The greatest moment ever. We got one large fry to share with everyone because they give you a massive amount of fries.

I got mine as a cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, grilled onions, grilled shrooms, ketchup, and mustard.

Worlds largest cup of fries. With amazing fry sauce on the side.

After lunch/dinner we crossed the street to the movie theater. We watched the Hobbit again! This was my third time seeing it, and it was still awesome.

And when we came home, I had my birthday cake. My mom made me a chocolate chip cheesecake with an oreo crust. I have to say that it was very yummy.

Doesn't my piece look perfect?

And now i'm finishing off my day by watching Groundhog Day. Classic.

Breakin the Rules

Today my day started out kind of shakey. I woke up at 10:30 a.m. freaking out because I had work at 11. That gave me aprox. 15 minutes to get ready. My hopes of taking a shower flew out the window instantly. I managed to get ready in time though! Score.

The roads were icy, and I almost died walking into work, but i'm still here to tell the tale, so crisis averted. No worries there. Then after work I almost died as I was about 6.3 inches from my car. But again, still alive.

The instant I walked into my apartment I ran to the shower so that I could cleanse myself. I forget how much I love taking showers in the afternoon. Is that weird? I just like it...

Me and Rosie decided that today we were going to break the rules of our south beach diet (because it is the end of phase 1 and beginning of phase 2, which caused for a pretty dang awesome reward.) So we went to Costa Vida for dinner. That was very scrumptious.

Then we had fhe at my apartment. We had a lesson about keeping an eternal perspective. That was a great little reminder. My mind is going crazy thinking about all the different things. Maybe I need to go to sleep and wrap my head around everything so that I can make a plan to apply that to my life. For our activity we did puzzles. I got these puzzles at the dollar store, hoping that our family would enjoy them.

The Boba Fett one glows in the dark. After it was all built, we turned off the lights to see if it would glow. We discovered that it needed more time to charge in the light. So instead of picking up the puzzle and putting it up to the light (which doesn't work btw. It breaks.) they decided to lift up the whole coffee table and put the puzzle directly under the light. After about a minute, they put the table down and turned off the lights. It really glowed! It wasn't super great quality, but it was a buck. I was satisfied.

After puzzles/fhe, me and Rosie went to Menchies to finish off our breaking the rules/celebration. I got a free icecream from them because it is my birthday week. I got my usual chocolate with reeses an peanut butter/fudge sauce. Super good.

I really had a good time today. Despite the rocky start. Have a nice night.

In Love

Ok guys. I've been holding this in for fear of being made fun of. I'm coming out. I am in love.

With David Archuleta.

I'm pretty sure that it is creepy that I just announced it like that, but you know. Whatever.

It all started when I bought his new c.d. that was released just after he left for his mission. It's really good, you really should listen to it. Archuleta lover or not, it's good. It's called Believe.

Anyways, then I found one of his songs that he sang with Motab for the Christmas concert and was like, this is really good. Then I started looking up his music videos on youtube. Then I started watching his video diaries on his youtube channel. I'm pretty sure that I am a 12 year old girl.

Just thought I would share.

Puzzles with the Fam

Yesterday I went home for Martin Luther King day because my dad was making steaks for lunch. Who would ever say no to steaks?? I have to say it was very delicious. Some of the best steak my dad has ever made.

While we were eating me and my sister were talking about Phantom of the Opera because we went to see it with our cousins on Saturday. So Erika decided to put in a c.d. of my dad's that has some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's best songs.

We have a weird tradition in our family that we always do puzzles with this c.d. playing. This c.d. and some other country ones that my dad has. While the c.d. was playing my dad said, "hey we're not doing a puzzle!" So I told Erika to go get a puzzle and then we started working on a Disney puzzle.

I don't know why, but it is not a fun puzzle unless we have our awesome music playing in the background. And if there is awesome music playing, we have to be doing a puzzle or playing a board/card game with each other. I love it.

This particular puzzle we did is one of our favorites. It is a Disney one that we got from Disneyland. One of the best souveniers I have enjoyed from there.

The first thing we do is turn all of the pieces over and take out all the edges. I'm pretty sure everyone does puzzles like that, but in case you don't, that is what we do.

Our process of building the puzzle is pretty cool too. We kind all pick what part of the puzzle we want to focus on. I wanted to do the princesses and my dad wanted to do the monorail. Erika did the edges, and my mom did the Disneyland letters. Once we get going we realize that all of our pieces fit together and the puzzle is almost done! It is so awesome seeing how everyone did their part to make the puzzle happen.

This is the finished puzzle. I had to leave before it was completely finished because I had work :( I left at the above picture ^.

I had an awesome holiday yesterday! I hope you all did as well. I love having days that I can just spend with my family :)

My Keys...

Today I woke up to a beautiful sunshiney morning. I was feeling so good. I took a shower and got ready for the day. I read my scriptures and played with my dog. I enjoyed some time on the computer. After a little while I went outside to warm up my car.

My car had trouble starting..."oh no" I thought. But after a third try it indeed started. But I then realized I needed to scrape my windows. I actually enjoy scraping my windows so I didn't think anything of it. So I thought I opened my door and unlocked the other doors, so that I could get into the back seat to get my scraper. So with my car running, I shut the driver door and open the back door.

The back door is not opening. So I open the driver side to unlock it once more. But the driver door was locked as well. I feel like my soul has been sucked out. But then I remember that I have a spare set of keys in my purse!!! After what feels like a second of glory, I remember that my purse is in my car. Locked away. So many thoughts are running through my mind. My keys are locked in the ignition, with the car running in my driveway. Do I want to die? Do I run away? Do I call my parents? I don't know. But running away and dying sound really good right now.

I call my mom and ask her what I should do. She says to call dad. So I do, but it goes straight to voicemail. I try again, and no difference. I again call my mom and she reaches my dad. He is coming home from work to fix my stupid mistake. Meanwhile my mom has to come home from work so that she can drive me to work. That's not embarassing.

After work my mom picked me up (again, that's not embarassing...). She told me that my dad unlocked the car with one of our marshmallow roasting sticks. Because apparently a wire hanger is not strong enough. I am pretty much just amazed that he was able to unlock my car with out a locksmith.

This is really not a funny story. Because like 3 months ago while I was at my apartment for lunch and locked my keys in the trunk. Apparently i'm irresponsible with my keys. If you haven't noticed...

Moral of the story, I went and got one more set of spare keys today so that there will be a spare set at home and in my apartment. I hope I never lose these babies again...

AHHHH!!!

So today has been a pretty great day! After work, me and Rosie taught hair and make up tips for a relief society activity. It was so much fun. I feel like we really taught so much to them! I taught the hair tips and Rosie taught the make up. Afterwards, we went to Pizza Factory to gorge ourselves on delicious food (Rosie had a gift card so we were able to afford this :) )

After stuffing ourselves, we were off to Tarjay (target). After all of our awesome make up tips and newly found self confidence, we wanted to look at make up. Rosie had tried my mousse foundation and really liked it, so we wanted to find it in a better shade. We ended up finding the PERFECT shade. She looks pretty rockin right now. I also got some new eyeshadow for 5 smackers. Rosie got a gigantic pallette for 15 dollars and it is so awesome!

Anyways, we pretty much just went silly with gettin stuff. It is e.l.f. brand so everything was very inexpensive. I am very pleased with that Tarjay trip.

When we got home Rosie tried out her new make up. She looks awesome! Here is a picture.

Have a great evening errbody. Oh yeah, and I straightened her hair. Looks great!
